The GRENADIERS Association

     A team of INS Brahmaputra visited The GREANDIERS Regimental Centre on 24 Apr 2024 while undertaking 'Brahmaputra to Brahmaputra' motorcycle expedition. The expedition commenced on 18 Apr 24 from INS Brahmaputra at Mumbai and will culminate at Brahmaputra river in Kaziranga, Assam. The expedition is being undertaken to commemorate the ship's 25th year of service and fostering healthy tri-services relations while raising awareness about our Armed Forces.      The team reached Jabalpur on 23 Apr 24 and interacted with students at Army Public School and later visited The GRENADIERS Regimental Centre and exchanged mementos.       A GRENADIERS get together was organized at Khetarpal Offrs' Institute, Chandimandir on 21 Apr 2024. Total 37 esteemed members of Grinder fraternity attended the ibid get together including 20 officers and 17 ladies.      Attendance of three ex COR, Brig SS Ahluwalia, VrC, VSM (retd), Maj Gen SK Bharadwaj, SM (retd) and Lt Gen GS Sangha, AVSM, SM, VSM (retd) was the highlight of the occasion.

        The 2024 Asia Rowing Cup witnessed an extraordinary victory as Rower Grenadier Nitin Deol of 18 GRENADIERS clinched gold in the LM2X (2000MTR) category. This momentous achievement marks a proud milestone for Indian sports.       The individual trained meticulously at the Watermanship Training Node, Kosamghat, based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh under the aegis of GRENADIERS REGIMENTAL CENTRE which has been instrumental in training athletes for various sports, including rowing. With a legacy of excellence, the Centre has produced numerous champions who have brought glory to the nation.        This victory underscores the dedication and commitment of both the athlete and the regiment in shaping the future of Indian sports and achieving nothing less than excellence in all spheres.        TOWERING TWELFTH celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on 01 Apr 2024. The event was celebrated with joy, fervor and enthusiasm. The festivities commenced with traditional Grenade House dinner, followed by Pagal Gymkhana, Dinner at Grinders' Officers' Mess, a Special Sainik Sammelan and Wreath Laying Ceremony to pay homage to gallant soldiers. Also, Mandir Parade, Family welfare activities and a Barakhana were organized.     The celebration was meticulously planned with grandeur and splendor, leaving all the visitors enchanted and in admiration. The occasion was graced by numerous veterans incl Lt Gen SS Dhillon, PVSM, AVSM**, VSM (Retd) Ex COR, Exsm and Veer Naris.      Team TOWERING TWELFTH extends heartfelt gratitude to all the veterans, Grinders and well-wishers for their blessings on this special occasion.         It is matter of great honor for the Regt, that TOWERING TWELFTH has been adjudged as Best Inf Bn of 21 Mtn Div for the Trg Yr 2023-24. Due to the persistent efforts, diligent work ethics, the Bn won Div trophy with a significant lead.      The unit was judged on several parameters for the prestigious trophy incl Op preparedness and Performance in various Professional and sports competitions. The bn stood Runners Up posn in an impressive seven out of ten Div Professional and Sports Competitions.      The feat re-emphasizes the unit’s professional competence and high standards of espirit-de-corps amongst all ranks.       Continuing with his visits of the Bns, Lt Gen A Arun, PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, COS HQ SWC and Colonel The GRENADIERS visited Awwal Ekkis on 18 Apr 2024. The COR in an interactive session appreciated the Bn for it's excellent performance in all domains and exhorted all rks to keep up the good work in true Grinder spirit.      He further motivated the tps by presenting COR Medallion to outstanding performers and also presented the Bn with a memento. The session culminated with a gp photograph to immortalize the event in pages of Regtl history.       Lt Gen A Arun, PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, COS HQ SWC and Colonel The GRENADIERS visited SHOLA PALTAN on 16 Apr 2024. True to the Grinder spirit, COR in an electrifying interactive session spoke about leadership and exhorted all ranks of the Bn to continue doing well in all spheres of Ops, trg and sports.      He also presented the achievers with the unique COR medallion and also presented a memento to the Bn. The visit culminated with a gp photograph to capture the moment in pages of Regtl history.       It was a matter of great honour and privilege for the battalion to host Lt Gen A Arun, PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, COS, HQ SWC and Col The GRENADIERS on 17 Apr 24. The COR interacted with the enthusiastic tps of the Bn in an electrifying session, wherein he exhorted all ranks to continue their pursuit of excellence and spoke at length on the concept of Leadership & Happiness.       In the true Grinder spirit of achieving excellence, 24 GRENADIERS did the Regt proud by winning Tanot Bde Inter Unit Championship Banner for the year 2023-24. The Bn also bagged the trophy for standing best in sports.       Lt Gen Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, GOC 1 Corps visited 14 GRENADIERS on 17 Apr 2024 and interacted with the troops. He also interacted with the Regimental officers present in Leh during a social evening.    The General officer shared his experiences of the area and motivated them all to excel in tasks assigned to them, keeping up with the highest traditions of the Regt.
