TOWERING TWELFTH : DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

       TOWERING TWELFTH celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on 01 Apr 2024. The event was celebrated with joy, fervor and enthusiasm. The festivities commenced with traditional Grenade House dinner, followed by Pagal Gymkhana, Dinner at Grinders' Officers' Mess, a Special Sainik Sammelan and Wreath Laying Ceremony to pay homage to gallant soldiers. Also, Mandir Parade, Family welfare activities and a Barakhana were organized.

    The celebration was meticulously planned with grandeur and splendor, leaving all the visitors enchanted and in admiration. The occasion was graced by numerous veterans incl Lt Gen SS Dhillon, PVSM, AVSM**, VSM (Retd) Ex COR, Exsm and Veer Naris.

     Team TOWERING TWELFTH extends heartfelt gratitude to all the veterans, Grinders and well-wishers for their blessings on this special occasion.

  1.        The day of 14 June 2024 etched an important page in the history of the GRENADIERS Regiment as it witnessed Lieutenant General Sanjay Mitra, AVSM taking over the reins of prestigious appointment of Colonel, The GRENADIERS from the able hands of Lieutenant General A Arun, PVSM, YSM, SM, VSM who is due for superannuation on 30 June 2024. 2.        In a solemn ceremony organised at The GRENADIERS Regimental Centre, both the General officers started the day by laying wreaths at the Regimental War Memorial to take blessings from our forefathers and to pay homage to Bravehearts of the Regiment who laid down their lives for the nation in the highest traditions of Indian Army. 3.        The Baton Exchange ceremony took place in the revered Colonel Hoshiar Singh, PVC Drill ground in front of around 1,000 fellow Grinders including Agniveers. GRINDER GET TOGETHER : NOIDA

     The Grinders of Noida area broke the ice with their first get together on 04 May at Arun Vihar Institute sector 29 Noida. For a beginning, there was a healthy presence of 14, including 6 couples and 2 single officers. GRENADIERS GET TOGETHER AT LEH

      Lt Gen Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, GOC 1 Corps visited 14 GRENADIERS on 17 Apr 2024 and interacted with the troops. He also interacted with the Regimental officers present in Leh during a social evening.    The General officer shared his experiences of the area and motivated them all to excel in tasks assigned to them, keeping up with the highest traditions of the Regt.
