133RD EDITION OF DURAND CUP

     Towering Twelfth successfully conducted 133rd edition of Durand Cup 2024 at Kokrajhar (Assam). The unit undertook the mammoth task and accomplished it in the most befitting manner right from planning to its execution. 

     The trophy flag off was carried out on 14 Jul 2024 in which Smt Nandita Gorlosa, Hon’ble Sports Minister of Assam was the Chief Guest. The opening ceremony on 30 Jul 2024 was witnessed by Shri Lalnghinglova Hmar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Sports and Youth Services Department, Govt of Mizoram, Shri Lotay Tshering, Former PM, Bhutan, Shri Pramod Boro, Hon’ble CEM, Lt Gen R C Tiwari, UYSM, AVSM, SM, GOC- in - C Eastern Comd, Air Marshal SP Dharkar, PVSM, AVSM, AOC-in-C, Eastern Air Comd and various civ and mil dignitaries. 

     A total of six league matches and one quarter final match was played wef 30 Jul 2024 to 21 Aug 2024. The quarter final was graced by Shri Pramod Boro, Hon’ble CEM, BTC and Maj Gen Vishal Singh, SM, VSM, GOC 21 Mtn Div. 12 GRENADIERS untiring and steadfast efforts were appreciated by one and all.

     The Grinders of Noida area broke the ice with their first get together on 04 May at Arun Vihar Institute sector 29 Noida. For a beginning, there was a healthy presence of 14, including 6 couples and 2 single officers. GRENADIERS GET TOGETHER AT LEH

      Lt Gen Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, GOC 1 Corps visited 14 GRENADIERS on 17 Apr 2024 and interacted with the troops. He also interacted with the Regimental officers present in Leh during a social evening.    The General officer shared his experiences of the area and motivated them all to excel in tasks assigned to them, keeping up with the highest traditions of the Regt.
