MAJ GEN RAJENDRA RAI, SM VISITS JOSHILA SIXTH

 On 23 Sep 2024, Maj Gen Rajendra Rai, SM, COS, UB Area, visited Joshila Sixth at Rudraprayag and interacted with the troops. He commended the battalion for their unwavering efforts during the Kedarnath Rescue and Relief Operations in Aug 2024, praising the unit for their dedication and fulfillment of duty.

COR VISITS FIGHTING FOURTH

  Lieutenant General Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, GOC-in-C Stike Corps, Col of the Regiment, The GRENADIERS vis FIGHTING FOURTH on 18 September 2024 at Khanpur Camp, Delhi. The rains could not dampen the spirits of the Battalion as the paltan gave the COR a warm welcome.   ⁠General Mitra heartily congratulated the unit on its well deserved nomination for UN mission to Lebanon. He also motivated them to keep aspiring for higher goals while being the flag bearers of the nation and Regiment on foreign soil. He shared his wisdom experience through Sainik Sammelan and interacted at length with the Offrs, JCOs and ORs of the Bn . He emphasised upon the role of Junior Leaders and reiterated that they are the pillars of any Unit and Sub Unit.    ⁠The General felicitated the meritorious individuals of the unit who had performed exceptionally in their field of work with diligence and motivation. On the 59th death anniversary of the esteemed Late CQMH Abdul Hamid, Param Vir Chakra of 4 GRENADIERS, a poignant wreath laying ceremony took place at his native village of Ghazipur, where a solemn tribute to one of India's most celebrated war heroes was paid by Commandant, GRENADIERS Regiment Centre, who laid wreath on behalf of Lieutenant General Sanjay Mitra, AVSM, Colonel, The GRENADIERS. 2. Late CQMH Abdul Hamid’s legacy is etched into the annals of Indian military history for his unparalleled bravery during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. TRIBUTE TO COL SHYAM PRADHAN (RETD) OF 11 & 21 GRENADIERS

12 AUG 1957- 05 SEP 2024 1. With deep regret and sorrow, we inform you about the sad demise of IC–35275M Col Shyam Pradhan (Retd) on 05 Sep 2024 at his native place Pune (Mah) in 67 years of age due to heart problem. He was born on 12 Aug 1957 and commissioned into 11 GRENADIERS on 15 Jun 1978; he also served with 21 GRENADIERS. He retired from his service on 31 Aug 2011. 2.
